Description
Catapult is a sports technology company that designs wearable tracking hardware and athlete monitoring solutions used by premier sports teams globally. This Senior Firmware Engineer role focuses on developing firmware for cutting-edge wearable devices, working within a Research & Development team to design and integrate components across wearables and stadium infrastructure. What You'll Do • Bring up new hardware from scratch and develop device trees and boot chains • Develop wireless firmware for ARM Cortex hardware platforms • Track tasks using bug tracking software and document work in shared knowledge base platforms • Influence the hardware design of future products through firmware expertise • Work with test engineers to resolve issues and participate in multidisciplinary teams across engineering disciplines • Participate in firmware engineering chapters to share best practices within the organization What You Need • Formal qualifications in electronics or software engineering • At least 5 years of firmware development experience • Demonstrated experience programming with C, C++, and Python • Demonstrated experience with wireless communications standards and protocols including BLE, Wi-Fi, and long-range/low bit-rate applications • Experience bringing up new hardware from scratch and managing products throughout their entire lifecycle • Strong attention to detail, proven self-starter capability, ability to prioritize with a can-do attitude Nice to Have • Experience with Atlassian's platform for defect tracking and documentation • Experience with Git source code management • Experience in signal processing and algorithm design • Knowledge of Linux operating systems, particularly Yocto
