Senior Finance Analyst – Internal Audit, Financial Controls & Recovery We're partnering with an entertainment and media company on the search for a Senior Finance Analyst to join its Finance team. This is a great opportunity for an auditor who wants out of the testing treadmill and into a real business! This role is based in New York, NY, and is five days a week in office. What you'll be doing: • Own testing of controls, transaction sampling, and documentation of findings as part of the company's internal audit function • Review and validate legal vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with billing guidelines, identifying errors and non-compliant charges • Maintain accurate tracking of legal spend, prepare recurring reporting and accruals, and partner with Legal on cost forecasting • Serve as the primary finance liaison with insurance carriers and brokers on recoveries of reimbursable legal expenses, from submission through collection • Reconcile recoveries against submitted amounts and ensure they're properly recorded in the general ledger • Support internal review of commercial contracts, flagging financial risk and non-standard terms to Finance and Legal leadership • Assist in developing and improving policies related to vendor management and expense recovery, and support external audit requests What we're looking for: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance • 3-6 years of experience in public accounting or internal audit, with genuine controls and testing depth: walkthroughs, transaction sampling, documentation of findings • Strong accrual and general ledger fluency; comfort posting recoveries, not just chasing them • Advanced Excel skills and comfort building trackers and reconciliations from scratch • Exceptional follow-through and persistence, this role runs recoveries over long timelines against carriers who won't chase themselves • Exposure to legal invoices, e-billing, contract financial terms, or claims is a plus but not required • CPA or CIA a plus Base salary range: $110,000–$130,000, plus discretionary bonus.
