Description
About The Role At ARX Robotics, you will help shape the next generation of autonomous ground systems for demanding real-world environments. As a Senior Engineer - Robotics Perception you will develop the perception capabilities that allow robotic platforms to understand, navigate, and operate safely across complex off-road terrain.   You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across autonomy, navigation, hardware, and software to bring advanced robotic systems from prototype to deployment. Your work will directly influence how autonomous and teleoperated vehicles perform in the field, from perception accuracy to operational reliability under challenging conditions.   What You’ll Build Develop perception algorithms for object detection, terrain classification, obstacle segmentation, and traversability analysis in off-road environments    Design robust sensor fusion pipelines combining LiDAR, cameras, radar, IMU, and GNSS data for reliable environmental understanding    Build real-time perception systems for autonomous ground vehicles operating in dynamic outdoor conditions    Apply machine learning and deep learning techniques to improve scene understanding and decision-making capabilities    Optimize perception software for embedded platforms with strict power constraints   Integrate perception outputs with navigation and path planning systems for safe autonomous traversal    Test and validate systems in demanding field environments including mud, dust, rain, and uneven terrain    Use simulation environments to accelerate development, testing, and deployment readiness    Collaborate across robotics sub-systems to create scalable and production-ready autonomy solutions    Contribute to the advancement of robotics, AI, and sensor technologies within a fast-moving defense technology environment    What You Bring Advanced academic background (MSc or higher) in Robotics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or a related engineering field    Strong software engineering skills in C++ and Python    Hands-on experience developing perception systems for robotics in real-world, unstructured environments    Solid understanding of terrain classification, obstacle detection, segmentation, sensor fusion, and traversability estimation    Experience working with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorRT    Familiarity with perception and 3D data processing libraries including OpenCV, PCL, or Open3D    Confidence working with ROS2, simulation tools, and robotics development workflows    Strong understanding of Linux environments, version control, and modern software engineering practices    A proactive and collaborative mindset with the ability to take ownership in fast-paced development environments    Experience with CUDA or edge computing optimization are beneficial   Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.   What We Offer Join a mission-driven European defense tech company at a pivotal stage of growth, where you can help shape meaningful technology, take ownership early, and grow with the business!   Competitive compensation package including a bonus opportunity   27 vacation days to start, increasing with tenure up to 30 days   Employer-supported pension contribution   Learning &am
