Job DescriptionJob PurposeThe Application Engineering team provides top-tier support, maintenance, and solution design on multiple applications, including MFT (Sterling Integrator), Axway, Go Anywhere, and LDAP. This Engineer will create and maintain availability and high-performance of various applications in mixed UNIX and Windows development, in both non-production and production environments. This role will also perform root cause analysis of problems, select and implement automation tools, and actively participate in deeply technical discourse.ResponsibilitiesDesign, plan and implementation of integrated solutionsTune systems for maximum available performanceRespond to and assist in production operations in a 24/7 environmentTroubleshoot and resolve issues both proactively and as discoveredApplication support and administration for Sterling Integrator and File Gateway, Go Anywhere, and other applicationsManage application configurations, patch levels, and evolution pathsProvide technical analysis, resolve problems, and propose solutionsProvide support to and coordinate with developers, operations staff, release engineers, and end-usersEducate and mentor team members and operations staffParticipate in after-hours support and change eventsKnowledge And ExperienceDegree in Engineering/Computer Science discipline or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering5 years broad experience with Sterling Integrator and File Gateway (MFT and/or EDI), Axway, and/or Go Anywhere2 years of Linux Operating Systems (RedHat variants preferred) experienceTop-tier analytics and problem solvingStrong initiative to learn and assimilate new software/technologies and improve business processesDemonstrated Fundamental knowledge of Windows Operating Systems (2019)Fundamental understanding of the SDLC processes, and tools (GIT, Jenkins, Puppet, Ansible, etc)Fundamental understanding of Operational Concepts (DR, BCP, Prod vs. Non-Prod)Functional Scripting Knowledge (GoLang, Python, Perl, BPML, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell and/or others)Understanding of SQL Database concepts (Oracle, MySQL)Ability to work in a fast-paced service-oriented team environmentCustomer focused, and dedicated to the best possible user experienceCommunicate effectively with both technical and business resourcesFluent speaking, reading, and writing in EnglishPreferred Knowledge And Experience1 years of experience with LDAP systemsExperience in automation tool development and methodologies, such as Ansible or PuppetStrong understanding of project management, organization, and time management
