Description
Description
We are seeking a Senior Controls Architect to lead the development and productionization of Drive-by-Wire control systems. The candidate will define control architecture and algorithms, develop models in Simulink, and enable production-quality code generation and deployment to embedded controllers. This role focuses on real-time control of steering, braking, and propulsion systems. This role supports a production program to deploy a Drive-by-Wire (DbW) solution on embedded vehicle controllers for a high-reliability vehicle application. The system is developed using a model-based design approach (MATLAB/Simulink) with auto-generated code deployed to production ECUs.
• Define control architecture for Drive-by-Wire systems (steer-by-wire, brake-by-wire, throttle control)
• Develop control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink (model-based design)
• Generate and deploy embedded C code to production ECUs
• Implement closed-loop control strategies (PID, feedforward, etc.)
• Define system interfaces across sensors, ECUs, and actuators
• Ensure real-time performance and robustness
• Support MIL / SIL / PIL / HIL validation and vehicle testing
Requirements
• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card is required
• 8+ years in automotive embedded control systems
• Strong experience with:
• MATLAB / Simulink
• Model-based development and code generation
• Strong background in:
• Control systems and vehicle dynamics
• Experience with:
• Embedded C / C++
• Real-time ECU development
• CAN / LIN communication
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with steer-by-wire, brake-by-wire, or actuator control systems
• Experience with:
• Embedded Coder or AUTOSAR
• HIL tools (dSPACE, NI, etc.)
• Familiarity with Calibration and diagnostics tools
• Exposure to Functional safety concepts (ISO 26262)
• Experience with Defense, off-highway, or heavy-duty vehicle platforms
