Our client is an international innovation company specializing in hydraulic and electrified drive systems for mobile machinery. They are currently seeking a  Senior Control Engineering & Modeling Engineer (all genders) to strengthen their international R&D team based in the North Rhine-Westphalia region. Monitor and analyze the latest developments in automation, control engineering, and machine intelligence, both in academic research and industrial applications. Develop and design innovative technical solutions. Create and analyze dynamic system models using both  first-principles (physics-based) and  data-driven modeling approaches. Design and execute  Model-in-the-Loop (MiL) and  Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing for model-based (adaptive) control architectures and AI applications. Continuously develop and improve both new and existing software solutions (legacy systems) in line with defined development objectives. Prepare and maintain technical documentation and reports. Plan and facilitate technical discussions while presenting and communicating project results to internal stakeholders. Master's degree or PhD in Control Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybernetics, Physics, or a comparable discipline. Proven practical experience in  control engineering/control theory , preferably with a focus on  model-based and  adaptive control . Strong expertise in the modeling and simulation of technical systems. Experience in  Machine Learning and/or  Data Science , ideally focusing on resource-constrained applications or hybrid approaches combining data-driven and physics-based models. Experience in the development of  electro-hydraulic systems , ideally for heavy-duty mobile machinery. Excellent technical understanding of complex systems. Strong practical experience with  MATLAB and  Python . Initial experience with  AmeSim is considered an advantage. Professional proficiency in written and spoken English. €70,000 – €95,000 per year, depending on qualifications and professional experience. International and highly innovative working environment.
