Job Title: Senior Contracts Officer (Permanent) Salary: £43,801 – £47,201 per annum (Grade J) (Plus Casual Car User Mileage) Hours: 37 hours per week (to be worked flexibly in line with business needs) Location: Based at Gadbrook Park, Northwich. The Trust operates an agile working approach which is a combination of working from our Head Office on Gadbrook Business Park, Northwich, and home working. This role will be predominantly desk based but with some infrequent travel to Trust office locations and refurbishment & maintenance sites to Trust housing stock in the Cheshire region. Your Opportunity The Customer, Place & Services (CP&S) Directorate is seeking to recruit a Senior Contracts Officer to work within the Assets Team. The Directorate is responsible for the procurement and delivery of works up to the value of £15 million annually, based in the Trust’s portfolio of over 6,200 properties. This is an exciting opportunity to join an existing, pro-active Assets team delivering an essential role to ensure the effective management and upkeep of our housing stock. You will act as lead in ensuring housing maintenance, refurbishment and other adhoc contracts are procured in line with statutory regulations achieving the best value for money solutions for the Trust. You will be required to format contract documents from specifictaions and schedules of work and carry out the tendering process either through use of frameworks or through the Trusts tendering portal. Leading on monthly cost monitoring of contracted works and reporting monthly spend analysis you will have a good eye for detail and excellent numeracy skills and will be experienced in basic estimating and quantity surveying. What Will You Do? You will be well organised and able to manage fleet and materials supply contracts.The role will involve direct line management of a small established team and effective leadership and communication skills are essential. We are looking for candidates who care about delivering excellent customer service, and who are focussed on delivering cost effective services and achieving value for money. Candidates will need to work closely with a variety of teams across the Trust, especially with operational team leaders and managers, and must support the Senior Asset & Contracts Manager in continually meeting targets and deadlines. In addition, you will be required to participate in the Trust callout rota as Call Out Supervisor. Minimum Requirements For This Role • Relevant QS or Higher-level Business Administration qualification • Full UK driving licence • Use of tendering software and the full oversight of tendering exercise delivery • Preparation and execution of tender/contract documents • Quantity Surveying, Estimating and cost control for maintenance and refurbishment works Due to the nature of the role, a full current driving license and access to a car is essential. The role will also require the successful candidate to undergo a DBS check.
