Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled  Senior Consultant / Specialist Ophthalmologist  to join our Ophthalmology Department. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical eye care, delivering exceptional patient outcomes while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of ophthalmic conditions affecting the eye and visual system. Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures, including cataract surgery and other procedures within the scope of expertise. Conduct comprehensive eye examinations using advanced diagnostic equipment. Diagnose and manage conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, corneal diseases, retinal disorders, and ocular emergencies. Develop individualized treatment plans and provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care. Collaborate with optometrists, ophthalmic nurses, endocrinologists, neurologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care. Counsel patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, surgical procedures, and preventive eye care. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and clinical standards. Participate in departmental meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing medical education. Mentor junior medical staff and contribute to teaching and professional development activities where applicable. Requirements Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution. Board certification or recognized postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology. Valid medical license or eligibility for licensure in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience as a Specialist or Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist. Expertise in comprehensive ophthalmic diagnosis, medical management, and surgical procedures.
