Description
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Senior Consultant / Consultant Pathologist to join our pathology department. The successful candidate will provide expert diagnostic pathology services, support multidisciplinary clinical teams, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality laboratory medicine and patient care. Key Responsibilities Examine and interpret tissue biopsies, cytology specimens, and laboratory investigations to provide accurate diagnoses. Perform gross and microscopic examination of surgical pathology specimens. Report histopathology, cytopathology, and other pathology findings in a timely manner. Collaborate with clinicians, surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and laboratory professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment. Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, including oncology and specialty case discussions. Ensure compliance with laboratory quality assurance, accreditation, and patient safety standards. Supervise and provide guidance to junior pathologists, laboratory scientists, and technical staff. Maintain accurate pathology records and laboratory documentation. Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing medical education. Stay current with advances in pathology, molecular diagnostics, and laboratory technologies. Requirements Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution. Board certification or recognized postgraduate qualification in Pathology (Anatomical Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or equivalent). Valid medical license or eligibility for licensure in the relevant jurisdiction. Extensive experience as a Consultant or Senior Pathologist in a hospital or accredited diagnostic laboratory. Strong expertise in histopathology, cytopathology, and laboratory diagnostics. Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
