Description
We are seeking a dependable and experienced   Senior Caregiver (Lead DSP)   to support adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a DDD-licensed group home setting. In this role, you will provide hands-on support with daily living skills, behavioral support, medication assistance, and community integration. As a Senior Caregiver, you will also help guide other staff on shift to ensure the home operates safely, consistently, and in compliance with DDD standards. This is a working leadership role — you will actively support members while helping maintain structure, documentation, and quality of care. Duties • Assist members with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including hygiene, dressing, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, and mobility • Support members in developing independent living skills • Provide behavioral redirection and follow Behavior Support Plans as needed • Administer medications according to physician orders and DDD policies (if certified) • Document daily notes, incidents, and required records accurately and on time • Monitor member health, safety, and well-being and report concerns promptly • Ensure proper staff-to-member ratios are maintained on shift • Help train and guide new staff members • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment • Assist with transportation to appointments and community activities • Support meal planning and proper food handling procedures • Ensure compliance with DDD regulations and company policies Experience & Qualifications • Experience working with adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities preferred • Experience in group homes, DDD services, behavioral health, or similar settings strongly preferred • Ability to assist with ADLs and provide hands-on support • Comfortable managing behaviors in a calm and professional manner • Medication administration certification (or willingness to obtain) • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record • Strong documentation and communication skills • Ability to lift, transfer, and support members safely as required Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: ✔ Reliable and consistent ✔ Patient and calm under pressure ✔ Comfortable guiding coworkers during shift ✔ Organized and detail-oriented ✔ Compassionate but firm ✔ Committed to maintaining a safe and structured home environment Important Note This is not a desk job.
