Your role The Life Insurance Senior Business Analyst will play a key role in shaping, documenting, and implementing business requirements across life insurance product lines, ensuring alignment between business objectives and system capabilities. The position involves close collaboration with underwriting, claims, actuarial, IT, and compliance teams to support process improvement, regulatory adaptation, and digital transformation within the Belgian life insurance domain. Your key challenges are: Translating complex life insurance processes and products into clear functional requirements for technology teams. Managing cross-functional stakeholder expectations in a multilingual (Dutch/FR/EN) environment. Adapting solutions to evolving European and Belgian insurance regulations (IDD, AML, GDPR, FSMA). Supporting automation and digitization of life insurance operations while maintaining compliance and customer trust. Your tasks & responsibilities: Analyze, document, and validate business requirements for life insurance products and customer journeys. Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, IT development, actuarial, and operations teams. Conduct gap analyses on existing systems and propose target-state solutions. Support end-to-end implementation of new life insurance products, including data migration, testing, and rollout. Develop and maintain detailed business process models and use cases. Facilitate workshops, process mapping, and requirements gathering sessions with business users. Support regulatory and compliance initiatives impacting life insurance (e.g., PRIIPs, Solvency II). Collaborate on digital initiatives improving policyholder experience (e.g., self-service portals, e-signature, automation). Technical & Functional requirements: Solid knowledge of life insurance products (protection, savings, pension, investment-linked). Familiarity with Belgian insurance regulatory framework (FSMA, NBB) and EU directives. Experience with policy administration systems (PAS) and digital insurance platforms. Proficiency in business analysis methodologies (BABOK, Agile/Scrum). Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (SQL, Power BI, or equivalent). Knowledge of BPMN, UML, or equivalent process modeling notations. Your profile Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or Information Systems. Professional certifications preferred: CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile BA. You communicate clearly in Dutch and/or French and English (written and spoken). Minimum 7 years’ experience as a Business Analyst or Consultant in the life insurance or financial services sector. Proven experience in product development, digital transformation, or process re-engineering in life insurance. Strong understanding of both business and IT delivery in an agile environment. Analytical mindset and structured problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management in multicultural contexts. Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable to regulatory and business change. Strong collaboration skills across departments and external partners.
