As the founding Senior Backend Engineer at Casa, you will design and build the core systems powering a high-touch home management experience. From architecting APIs for the iOS app to managing complex data models for home inventory, you will define the technical foundation for a product with 96% retention and significant traction.
Responsibilities
• Design and implement the core backend APIs and infrastructure that coordinate a complex network of concierges, in-house handymen, and third-party vendors.
• Develop robust data models for home inventory and appliance tracking, ensuring every serial number and digital twin attribute is precisely managed.
• Collaborate with founders to establish engineering culture, setting the standards for testing, performance, and reliability across the entire backend stack.
Experience and qualifications
• Proven track record as an early engineer at a venture-backed startup, demonstrating the ability to ship high-quality products in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Expertise in designing clean, testable, and scalable backend systems and APIs that serve as a reliable foundation for mobile and web applications.
• Located in or willing to relocate to San Francisco to work shoulder-to-shoulder with a high-trust team dedicated to improving the lives of homeowners.
Why this role
• Work directly with ex-Uber and CloudKitchens founders as the first backend hire to shape the architecture of a $27M Series A startup from the ground up.
• Join a high-growth company with incredible product-market fit, boasting a 96% retention rate and backing from top-tier investors like Forerunner and Travis Kalanick.
• Build a product with real-world impact, moving beyond digital tools to manage physical infrastructure and logistics for homeowners through innovative 3D digital twins.
