We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build scalable backend systems and services. You will take ownership of critical infrastructure components, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical decisions that impact our platform's reliability and performance. What You'll Do • Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs serving millions of requests • Own the full lifecycle of backend systems from architecture through production deployment • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, conduct code reviews, and establish best practices • Collaborate with frontend, infrastructure, and product teams to deliver features end-to-end • Troubleshoot production issues, optimize performance, and improve system reliability What You Need • 7+ years of professional backend engineering experience • Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages (Python, Go, Java, or Node.js) • Deep understanding of distributed systems, databases, caching, and message queues • Experience designing and building microservices architectures • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and drive technical decisions Nice to Have • Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration • Familiarity with Linux system administration and command-line tools • Background working with event-driven architectures • Open source contributions or projects
