Description
Charles River Associates is a global consulting firm providing economic, financial, and forensic analysis. This Senior Associate role in the Forensic Services practice supports clients in investigating allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, misconduct, and non-compliance through digital forensics and cybercrime investigation services.
What You'll Do
• Perform onsite data collection and triage of macOS, iOS, Android, Windows, and Linux devices
• Execute chain of custody documentation and data intake procedures
• Conduct forensic analysis of macOS artifacts including plists, unified logs, FS Events, and spotlight metadata
• Investigate trade secret misappropriation across operating systems, particularly macOS, including iCloud exfiltration and AirDrop transfers
• Perform mobile device extractions and forensic examinations to identify user actions and deleted messages
• Lead teams on client engagements, manage quality assurance, and supervise project execution
• Write code and evaluate commercial software to improve investigation capabilities and implement new processes
• Participate in business development by building client relationships, drafting proposals, and presenting firm capabilities
What You Need
• 5-7+ years of experience in digital forensics, cyber intrusion investigation, or incident response analysis
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field
• Deep knowledge of macOS, Windows, and Linux operating systems, and APFS, HFS+, FAT, and NTFS file systems
• Working knowledge of open-source and commercial forensic software products, particularly macOS and iOS analysis tools
• Ability to effectively lead teams, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines
• Working knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, file systems, computer networks, email systems, mobile devices, and IT security
• Deep knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, design, traffic flow, protocols, sessions) and web technologies
• Willingness and ability to travel for client projects
Nice to Have
• Training or certifications in macOS forensic artifact investigation
• Experience leading data analytics engagements and managing technology-based best practices
$130,000–$152,500 base salary annually, may be eligible for additional bonus incentive compensation.
