Fixed term / secondment opportunity to the end of June 2027 • Use your analytical expertise to help improve outcomes for tamariki and rangatahi • Turn qualitative data into insights that drive systemic change • Join a fun and supportive team in an inclusive, purpose-led organisation Aroturuki Tamariki | Independent Children’s Monitor provides oversight of the oranga tamariki system. We check that organisations supporting and working with tamariki (children) and rangatahi (young people) in the oranga tamariki system are meeting their needs, delivering services effectively, and improving outcomes. We do this by listening to the experiences of those in the system and analysing data, to provide insights that will drive continuous improvement for tamariki and rangatahi – particularly tamariki and rangatahi Māori and tamariki and rangatahi with disabilities. As Kaitātari Raraunga Mātāmua | Senior Analyst Data and Insights – you will work within a team of data and insights colleagues to provide analysis, insights and reporting. This role has a focus on analysis and reporting of the qualitative data that our monitoring teams collect from tamariki, whānau, caregivers and professionals in communities.  You may also work with quantitative data provided by agencies within the oranga tamariki system. We are looking for a senior analyst, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an analyst/senior analyst role, who can bring most or all of the following: • strong qualitative analysis skills and experience (ideally using NVivo), including analysis of large volumes of data from interviews or focus groups • the ability to manipulate, analyse and report on quantitative data (desirable) • excellent ability to write plain English and produce compelling reports that succinctly communicate evidence-based insights • understanding of the significance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ability to weave a te ao Māori perspective into analysis • experience working in/good knowledge of the social sector, especially agencies subject to the Oranga Tamariki Act • an open, collaborative working style and ability to build strong working relationships Our values are Kia Māia – to be Courageous; Kia Pono, Kia Tika – to be Trustworthy; Manaaki – to be Respectful; and Kia Huritao – to be Reflective.  We are looking for people who share these values to join us.
