SEN Teaching Assistant September 2026 Start Redbourn, Hertfordshire, AL3 7LW £90 £100 per day Full-Time Long-Term Education Matters is currently recruiting compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming and supportive school in St Albans from September 2026 . This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) . Whether you're an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or looking to develop your career within special education, we'd love to hear from you. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant , you will: • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs. • Support children with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language Difficulties, SEMH, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) . • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning plans. • Encourage pupils' independence, confidence, and social development. • Promote positive behaviour using effective behaviour management strategies. • Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. • Support pupils with personal, emotional, and academic development. The Ideal Candidate To be considered, you will have: • Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a school, nursery, care, or support setting (desirable but not essential). • A patient, caring, and empathetic approach. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning. • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
