A nurturing primary school in Croydon is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 student with speech and language delays, helping to develop their communication skills and confidence. The Role: • Work one-to-one with a Year 3 student, using speech and language strategies to aid communication. • Support small-group interventions focusing on language development. • Implement activities recommended by the school’s Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT). • Use Makaton, PECS, or other communication tools to assist learning. • Provide additional literacy support to help improve reading and writing skills. About You: • Experience working with children with speech and language needs is desirable. • Knowledge of communication strategies such as Makaton or PECS is a plus. • A patient, encouraging, and engaging approach to SEN support. • Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with teachers and therapists.
