About the role: We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to support pupils across KS3 within a forward‑thinking specialist SEMH school in Stockport to cover on a long term basis from September. Join a highly committed team in a nurturing environment that supports children aged 11–14 with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs. Your role will focus on creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering learning space where every pupil feels understood, supported, and able to thrive. This is a long‑term position with an immediate start, giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact from the very first day. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging, inclusive lessons designed to meet the needs of pupils with a variety of SEMH challenges. Work closely with Teaching Assistants and wider staff to maintain a calm, supportive, and structured learning environment. Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, taking time to understand their emotional needs, triggers, and motivators. Champion the school’s ethos and contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive atmosphere where every young person feels valued and supported. Pre-requisites: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Proven experience working with children in a school or similar educational environment. Strong background in supporting pupils with SEMH needs, as well as those with Autism and other additional learning or behavioural needs. Ability to remain calm, patient, and grounded when responding to challenging behaviours or emotionally heightened situations. A genuine commitment to promoting children’s emotional well‑being, learning progress, and overall development.
