Benefits: Flexibility Self-Employed Personal Assistant required to support our teenage daughter. Advertised on behalf of parents/customer: We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic Self-Employed Support Worker to join an established two-to-one support team supporting a young adult with additional needs in the Kendal area. This is a rewarding opportunity to become part of a small, supportive team focused on promoting independence, wellbeing, and community engagement. You will work as part of a two-to-one support arrangement, providing person-centred support both at home and within the local community. The role may include: • Supporting community activities and outings • Promoting independence and life skills • Providing emotional reassurance and encouragement • Supporting with daily routines • Encouraging social interaction and community participation • Working collaboratively with the wider support team and family where appropriate We understand that flexibility is important. The weekday shifts can be adjusted within reason to suit the right applicant and the needs of the person being supported. For example, the Monday and Wednesday shifts could potentially be moved to alternative weekdays by mutual agreement. The alternate Saturday shift is part of an established support arrangement and is therefore less flexible, although occasional adjustments may be possible with sufficient notice. Skills Required: Essential: • Self-employed status (or willingness to register as self-employed) • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one) • Appropriate self-employed insurance Desirable: • Caring, patient, and understanding • Reliable and committed • Able to work calmly and confidently in a variety of situations • A good communicator • Flexible and person-centred in their approach • Comfortable working as part of a team Working Pattern / Days: Monday: 15:30 – 19:30 Wednesday: 15:30 – 19:30 Alternate Saturdays: 09:30 – 15:30 Number of Personal Assistants required: 1 FAQs How do I apply?
