As part of a new initiative, we have an exciting opportunity for registered healthcare professionals (Registered Nurse or Paramedic) to join our Clinical Hub.
As a Secondary Triage Clinician, you'll work alongside a talented team of Clinical Support Officers to deliver high quality, patient-centred care. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for conducting secondary triage and providing timely clinical advice and support via telephone and digital platforms, helping ensure patients receive the right care at the right time.
This role will be based at our Integrated Operations Centres in Auckland or Christchurch . We currently have opportunities available for both 20 hours per week and 37 hours per week . Both positions work on a rotating roster across Monday to Sunday , covering a combination of day, afternoon, and night shifts . Shifts are typically 8-10 hours in duration. The 20 hour position is worked in blocks of five consecutive shifts followed by 11 days off , while the 37 hour position is worked in blocks of five consecutive shifts followed by three days off .

Key responsibilities:
• Work collaboratively within the Integrated Operations Centre environment to offer clinical advice and guidance to patients, with an overall focus on achieving the best possible outcome for the patient.
• Conduct secondary triage assessments for patients.
• Utilise evidence-based triage protocols and clinical judgement to determine the urgency and appropriate level of care required.
• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and health professionals to assess symptoms, provide health advice, and support self-care when appropriate.
• Return incidents to the dispatch queue with the appropriate emergency ambulance response.
• Document clinical interactions accurately and promptly in electronic health records and designated triage platforms.
