Location: Lincolnshire Department: Dyson Farming Research Hours: Zero Hours Contract Type: Temporary, Zero Hours Reporting to: Field Research Scientist Role Summary The Seasonal Harvest Assistant supports Dyson Farming Research during harvest operations by carrying out manual potato yield digs and assisting with field trial activities. The role involves collecting and recording accurate yield data, handling crop samples, and supporting research trials to ensure high-quality data is gathered for analysis. This is a practical, outdoor role suited to individuals who enjoy hands-on agricultural work and working as part of a research team. Requirements Key Responsibilities Carry out manual potato yield digs across trial plots. Lift, sort, weigh, and grade potatoes by hand in the field. Record yield data accurately and consistently. Label, bag, and transport samples for further analysis. Support the trials team with plot identification, field layout, and basic crop assessments. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working area during harvest operations. Skills & Experience Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Physically capable of performing manual, repetitive, and labour-intensive tasks, including lifting, bending, and carrying. Reliable and self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Full driving licence preferred but not essential. No previous experience required; full training will be provided. Personal Attributes Enthusiastic about agriculture, fieldwork, and hands-on research. Positive attitude and willingness to undertake physically demanding tasks. Strong work ethic with a commitment to accuracy and consistency. Adaptable and able to remain focused during busy harvest periods.
