The Scientist I designs, develops, and executes research and technology development projects focused on biological product application and seed treatment. Supports development and optimization of application methods for microbial products across pre-commercial and commercial stages. This role contributes to laboratory operations and applied R&D efforts within the Seed Treatment lab and supports cross-functional initiatives including product development, formulation, and commercialization.     Essential Functions   Design and execute experiments related to seed treatment and biological product application.   Develop and optimize application methods, including seed-applied, liquid, and dry delivery systems.   Interface with external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and research partners, including leading tours, demonstrations, and stakeholder engagement activities.   Support continuous improvement of laboratory processes and application methods. Maintain compliance with safety, SOPs, and quality standards.     Competencies   Knowledge & Application   Knows microbiology, molecular biology, and biological systems to perform laboratory research and support biological product development.   Knows experimental design, execution, and data analysis to design studies, interpret results, and recommend next steps.    Knows biological product application and seed treatment technologies to support seed treatment lab operations, including workflow ownership and prioritization along with development and optimization of seed-applied, liquid, and dry delivery systems.    Knows microbiology, molecular biology, and analytical testing techniques to generate reliable laboratory data and technical insights.   Knows laboratory processes, safety requirements, SOPs, and quality standards to conduct work safely and maintain compliant lab practices.   Complexity & Problem Solving   Analyze, interpret, and document experimental data; provide recommendations based on findings.   Works independently on defined research activities and contributes to project execution with moderate guidance.   Supports continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve laboratory processes, workflows, and application methods.   Collaboration & Interaction   Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, formulation, fermentation, and commercialization.   Ability to manage independent workstreams and prioritize daily tasks.   Owns day-to-day lab work and defined research areas.     Work Environment   Laboratory-based environment, including seed treatment and microbiology lab work.   Combination of bench work, seed treatment operation, and desk-based.   May involve repetitive motion and standing for extended periods.   Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.     Travel Required Limited; occasional travel for site visits, training, or collaboration.     Required Education & Experienc
