Glassboro Child Development Centers is looking for motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Group Leaders to join our school-age programs! Our Assistant Group Leaders help create a safe, engaging, and positive environment where children can continue learning, building friendships, and having fun beyond the school day. Position Details • Schedule: Monday–Friday (must be available all five days) • Hours: 2:15 PM–6:00 PM • Hours per Week: Approximately 18.75 hours per week depending on program needs and location • Pay Rate: $17.98/hour • Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt What You'll Do Assistant Group Leaders support the planning and implementation of engaging activities while helping children develop socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. Responsibilities include: • Welcome children and families and help create a positive program environment • Assist with communicating information and concerns to families as assigned • Support daily activities including homework help, group activities, indoor/outdoor play, and enrichment opportunities • Provide active supervision to ensure children's health and safety • Assist with classroom activities, materials preparation, and meal/snack routines • Assist with observing children and documenting participation and development • Support children with bathroom and personal care routines as needed • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space Qualifications Required • CPR and First Aid Certification • Availability Monday–Friday, every day of the program schedule • Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and team members Preferred • High school diploma or equivalent • One year of experience working with children • Knowledge of school-age child development and positive guidance practices Professional Development Employees must complete a minimum of 12 hours of relevant annual training, including topics related to child development, safety, curriculum, and quality childcare practices. Work Environment This position works in a school-age classroom setting and includes indoor and outdoor activities. Employees may be required to attend occasional evening or weekend agency activities or events.
