Description
We are seeking a driven and experienced Safety Professional to lead and support safety operations on critical water infrastructure projects in Corpus Christi, TX. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can train teams, enforce compliance, and partner with field leadership to maintain a strong safety culture. Key Responsibilities • Lead and oversee all site safety efforts for projects within the Corpus Christi area. • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards. • Manage and mentor safety team members, including conducting training and development. • Deliver OSHA 10 and 30-hour training (OSHA 500 certification required). • Conduct jobsite audits, inspections, and incident investigations. • Oversee and coordinate subcontractor safety compliance. • Support field operations involving excavations, deep trenches (20+ ft), and shaft work. • Ensure safe practices in confined spaces, including waterlines and manholes. • Implement and monitor fall protection systems for elevated work (20+ ft). • Communicate effectively with field crews and executive leadership. • Translate technical safety requirements into clear, actionable guidance. • Maintain organized documentation, reports, and compliance records. Qualifications • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field preferred. • In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations. • OSHA 500 certification required. • Proven experience training crews and safety personnel. • Strong background in heavy civil construction and water/wastewater projects. • Experience with: • Excavation, trenching, and deep shaft work (20+ ft) • Confined space entry (manholes, pipelines, excavations) • Fall protection systems and ladder safety • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Work Requirements • Ability to work day or night shifts as needed. • Availability for weekend work when required. • Preference for candidates local to Corpus Christi; per diem available for non-local hires. • Opportunity for advancement into area or regional safety management roles.
