Room Leader (Pre-school) – Wembley, Greater London (HA9) Join a welcoming Montessori nursery where you will lead a preschool room, inspire young learners and support your team to deliver high-quality early years education within a nurturing, child-centred childcare environment. Employment Type Permanent | Full Time | All Year Round Salary £32,000–£34,000 per annum, dependent on experience + benefits Pay & Benefits • Competitive salary with an annual review • 28 days’ holiday, including five Christmas closure days and bank holidays • Remaining annual leave available to take throughout the year • One additional day of holiday for each completed year of service • Pension scheme • Three paid staff training days each year • Weekly non-contact time for observations and children’s learning records • In-house training and opportunities to complete further qualifications • Complimentary team-building activities • Time off in lieu • Wellbeing Wednesdays • Discounts at Wembley Outlet Working Hours & Shift Pattern Permanent | Full Time | 40 hours per week Wembley, Greater London (HA9) • Shift work between 7:30am and 6:00pm • Full-time position within a Montessori nursery • Weekly non-contact time provided during the nursery day • Time allocated to complete observations and update children’s learning frameworks Job Description As a Room Leader (Pre-school), you will lead the daily running of a preschool room within a Montessori nursery in Wembley, Greater London (HA9). You will create a nurturing and engaging environment where children are supported to become confident, curious and increasingly independent learners. Working within the nurseries & early years sector, you will guide the room team in delivering high-quality childcare and learning experiences informed by Montessori principles and the EYFS framework. This role would suit an experienced early years professional who enjoys developing practitioners, building trusted relationships with families and maintaining consistently high standards of care, education and safeguarding. Key Responsibilities • Lead the daily operation of the preschool room and maintain consistently high standards • Support, guide and motivate practitioners working within the room • Plan and deliver engaging learning experiences informed by Montessori principles and the EYFS • Complete observations, assessments and children’s learning records accurately • Use weekly non-contact time to update children’s frameworks and documentation • Build positive and professional relationships with parents and carers • Promote children’s independence, wellbeing, learning and development • Maintain safeguarding, health and safety and welfare standards at all times • Work collaboratively with the wider nursery and management team • Support continuous improvement across practice, communication and room organisation Requirements • Applicants must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK • Level 3 Early Years qualification or above • Previous experience within an early years setting, ideally with room leadership responsibilities • Experience within a Montessori or child-centred early years environment is advantageous • Ability to lead a busy preschool room while maintaining high standards of care and education • Strong communication, organisation and team leadership skills • Confidence working independently while contributing positively to the wider nursery team • Also suitable for: Preschool Room Leader, Early Years Room Leader, Senior Room Leader, Senior Early Years Educator and Room Manager Company Culture As a Room Leader (Pre-school), you will be part of a supportive nursery team that values collaboration, professional development and genuine care for children and families.
