Rolling Stone: Executive Director, Brand Partnerships
Rolling Stone is seeking an accomplished brand partnerships professional to join its New York sales team as Executive Director, Brand Partnerships, Rolling Stone & VIBE. This is a high-impact, revenue-generating role and we are looking for someone ready to hit the ground running. The Executive Director will sell integrated programs and lead partnership efforts across Rolling Stone and VIBE's digital, video, social, live events, and print platforms. The ideal candidate brings a digital-first, content-driven sales approach, deep agency and client relationships and the creative instincts to build 'best-in-class' programs that authentically integrate brand voice into Rolling Stone’s editorial DNA.
Rolling Stone values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Sell integrated brand partnership programs across digital, video, social, live events, and print platforms
Proactively develop new revenue opportunities and build a robust pipeline to meet and exceed ambitious annual and quarterly sales goals - Business Development is key to success
Identify, pitch, and close high-value brand partnership deals with advertisers across key verticals including CPG, Finance, Business and Consumer Technology to name a few
Call confidently on all stakeholders — clients, agencies, social and PR teams — at all levels
Collaborate closely with Rolling Stone’s marketing, events and branded content studio teams to ideate and deliver best-in-class, culturally resonant programs
Apply a consultative, solution-based sales approach to understand client goals and translate them into compelling proposals
Manage and grow existing client relationships before, during, and after the sale
Respond to and lead RFP processes with strong, timely proposals
Stay current on industry trends, audience insights, and competitive landscape to bring fresh thinking to every client conversation
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years of digital-first sales experience with a proven track record of closing complex, high-value deals
Strong, established relationships with agency and brand-side clients across the key verticals of CPG, Beverage, Technology and Finance
Deep expertise in integrated campaigns spanning digital, social, experiential, video, and print
Ability to develop big ideas and drive revenue across multiple platforms simultaneously
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; exceptional presentation and negotiation abilities
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who thrives in both collaborative and competitive environments
Proven ability to grow existing business while continuously developing new revenue opportunities
High sense of urgency with the ability to adapt quickly when opportunities arise
Preferred Qualifications
Experience selling within a premium media, entertainment or music/culture brand environment
Existing relationships with clients and agencies in the New York market
Familiarity with branded content, live events, social amplification and experiential sponsorship sales
Experience working cross-functionally with editorial, marketing and events teams
