Seeking an experienced Riser Engineer / Senior Riser Engineer on a permanent staff basis for an Oil & Gas Service company based in Aberdeen. The Riser Engineer / Senior Riser Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities: • Modelling of steel and flexible pipe riser systems. • Modelling of conductor, top tensioned & drilling riser systems. • Preparation of technical reports and presentations. • QA checking of calculations / reports. • Technical support of junior and senior engineering staff. • Support preparation of proposals / quotations. Experience / Qualifications: Essential: • A degree qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Structural, Civil or similar). • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in riser system engineering, or a similar field. • Experience with one or more of the following systems: • Conductor, top tensioned, and drilling riser systems. • Steel and flexible pipe riser systems. • Moorings. • Knowledge of API and DNV codes and standards related to riser engineering. • Experience with OrcaFlex or Flexcom (or a similar analytic package). • Analysis and design experience including the ability to undertake detailed hand calculations using Excel and/or Mathcad. Desirable: • Experience with system layout / detailed design drawings including knowledge of drafting packages such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor. • Experience with fracture mechanics assessments. • Python programming experience. • Experience with the structural / hydrodynamic testing of riser components. • Knowledge of geotechnics, hydrodynamics, computational fluid dynamics or naval architecture.
