The Review Editor evaluates manuscript submissions for scientific rigor and their potential for publication in JoVE Journal. As a key member of the Review team, this role upholds the scientific integrity of the Journal and directly supports our mission to advance research through visualization. Responsibilities : Make final publication decisions by evaluating the scientific validity of submitted manuscripts and their suitability for visualizing the protocol Review new submissions to ensure that the manuscript fits the scope of the journal and our publication standards Apply prompt engineering techniques to validate reviewer reports for relevance, completeness, and alignment with journal standards, ensuring consistency while maintaining editorial quality Use custom AI tools, custom GPTs, and prompt-based workflows to perform pre-QC checks such as identifying formatting issues, missing sections, language clarity, and guideline adherence before peer review Accelerate article publication through close collaboration with the Production team to move accepted manuscripts efficiently through the production pipeline Ensure timely editorial workflows by coordinating with peer review and the editorial team to meet review and decision deadlines
