Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
Lean Layer is the #1 Rated RevOps Agency on G2, and we’re doubling our consulting team over the next year. Our reputation is built on excellent results, which means we need to keep hiring excellent people. We’re looking for a Revenue Operations Technical Consultant (Marketing Ops) to own the marketing operations layer of our clients’ go-to-market systems.
In this role, you will own the marketing operations backbone that powers our clients’ go-to-market motions, channel operations, attribution & measurement, lifecycle & funnel journeys, lead management, campaign operations, and the handoffs that connect marketing, business development, and sales. You’ll work primarily across HubSpot and Salesforce environments while also touching other MAPs/CRMs and third-party systems to help translate ambiguous GTM goals into scalable, reliable, and well-governed systems.
As a technical consultant, you will drive strategic and tactical marketing operations conversations with clients and engagement managers, right-size solutions to the problem in front of you, and lead marketing ops execution across a wide variety of accounts. This is a role for someone who can move fluidly between the whiteboard and the building, and who takes ownership of outcomes rather than tickets.
You’ll partner closely with engagement managers, RevOps technical consultants, and BI/data teammates to make sure marketing data flows cleanly into reporting, campaigns are measurable, and the full marketing-to-sales lifecycle operates as one connected system.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate:
• Can lead strategic marketing operations conversations and translate marketing goals into technical solutions
• Is comfortable in a variety of MAPs/CRMs but specializes in HubSpot & Salesforce environments with the ability to perform light-weight Salesforce administrative work as it relates to marketing and business development operations
• Understands how marketing, business development, and sales actually work together and how to connect them operationally
• Enjoys owning the full lifecycle: attribution, campaigns, journeys, handoffs, and the reporting that proves it worked
• Has strong attention to detail and cares about data quality, consistency, and governance
• Can balance technical rigor with clarity and simplicity for non-technical stakeholders
• Thrives owning and improving marketing operations systems over time, across multiple client environments
• Has some technical execution experience across a variety of marketing channels paid media, web, events, chat, and email
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Operations Strategy & Solutioning
• Lead marketing operations discovery and solutioning conversations with clients and engagement managers
• Translate marketing and GTM objectives into scalable, well-architected operational systems
• Right-size solutions to the client’s maturity, tooling, and business goals rather than over-engineering
• Serve as the marketing operations point of expertise on strategic accounts with dedicated marketing ops contracts
Campaign Operations & Attribution
• Design and maintain marketing campaign attribution models and reporting across HubSpot and Salesforce
• Provide day-to-day marketing campaign operational support — setup, tracking, UTMs, and campaign hygiene
• Build and manage event imports, list operations, and data flows that feed campaign execution
• Ensure campaign data is measurable, consistent, and connected to pipeline and revenue outcomes
Lifecycle & Journey Design
• Design and operate lifecycle stage journeys spanning marketing, business development, and sales
• Build marketing journeys, nurtures, and automation that move contacts through the funnel
• Define and maintain lifecycle stage definitions, entry/exit criteria, and stage transition logic
• Align lifecycle design to lead scoring, routing, and downstream sales proce
