Residential Property Solicitor Location: London Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 plus bonus Contract: Permanent, full-time IRG Law is working with a growing full-service law firm seeking an experienced Residential Property Solicitor to join its established London conveyancing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-sufficient solicitor with strong knowledge of the London property market to manage a varied caseload from initial instruction through to completion and post-completion. The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative team within an ambitious firm that has experienced significant growth. The Role You will manage a broad range of residential property transactions, including: • Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases • Complex leasehold matters • New-build and shared ownership transactions • Remortgages and transfers of equity • Matters involving the Building Safety Act • Reviewing titles, searches and mortgage offers • Preparing and reviewing contracts, transfer deeds and other transactional documents • Raising, responding to and approving enquiries • Reporting to clients and lenders • Exchanging contracts and completing transactions • Managing SDLT returns, Land Registry applications and requisitions • Overseeing completion funds, deposits and associated disbursements • Maintaining accurate case-management, compliance and risk-assessment records You will communicate regularly with clients and work closely with estate agents, mortgage brokers, developers and other solicitors, providing clear advice and ensuring transactions progress efficiently. The Candidate The firm is looking for a driven and commercially minded Residential Property Solicitor who can manage transactions with a high degree of independence. You should have: • Strong residential conveyancing experience, ideally gained within the London market • Experience managing transactions from instruction through to completion and post-completion • Good knowledge of freehold and leasehold property, including complex leasehold structures • An understanding of the Building Safety Act and its application to residential property transactions • Experience of new-build and shared ownership matters • Strong title-checking, drafting and reporting skills • A sound understanding of regulatory, AML, data-protection and risk-management requirements • Excellent organisation and matter-management skills • A proactive and client-focused approach • The ability to build productive relationships with referrers and other property professionals The Opportunity The position offers the opportunity to join an ambitious and expanding firm with a strong commitment to personal client service.
