General Function: The position is responsible for assuming overall responsibility for the residential mortgage loan process from application to close, including underwriting evaluation, and collections. Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop new and expand both internal and external referral sources to grow mortgage business. • Interview mortgage loan applicants to collect and analyze financial data to determine the merits of the specific loan request. • Establish and negotiate loan terms including costs, repayment method and repayment schedule. • Advise customers concerning financial matters. • Review all documents to ensure risk exposure, Loan-to-Value, credit scores, Debt-to-Income ratios, ability to repay, etc. • Review appraisals for accuracy and completeness. • Complete and communicate underwriting decision and explain conditions, if any. • Request and review closing documents and conduct loan closings. • As necessary, assist with collection activities related to past due mortgage loans. • Maintain knowledge of Bank policies and procedures. • Ensure compliance of all state, federal laws and banking regulatory laws. • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent mandatory. • 3 or more years of residential mortgage lending experience. • NMLS license. • Knowledge of mortgage loan products, processing, underwriting, and closing guidelines. • Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending. • Demonstrated organizational skills. • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to cross-sell financial products and services. • Strong written and verbal communications skills. • Demonstrated teamwork and customer service skills. • Proven computer skills. • Ability to multi-task. • Strong organizational skills.
