• Resident Head: Kleinbosch Centre Babylonstoren offers an exciting opportunity for a Resident Head and Facilitator at the Kleinbosch Centre. The ideal candidate will have a passion for educating youth, exceptional people skills, and the drive to help establish an inspiring institution. Kleinbosch is a historic farm that once housed the first official Afrikaans school. Accommodation for the position is also provided on the premises. Requirements • A relevant teaching or language qualification • A degree in education will strengthen your application • Experience as a teacher or facilitator, or experience in a boarding school environment • At least three years’ leadership experience • Experience working with children or teenagers, e.g., teaching, mentoring, or youth leadership • Experience coaching life skills such as communication, conflict resolution, or similar skills would be advantageous • A passion for artificial intelligence (AI) and technology • Valid first aid training • Familiarity with handling emergencies, conflicts, or challenging behaviour, with the ability to address situations calmly and fairly • Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English • Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff • Ability to lead and supervise groups of students • Respect for and understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds • Friendly and approachable personality • Willingness to adapt to varied working hours and responsibilities • Appropriately qualified applicants from designated groups will be given preference Only affirmative action candidates will be considered. Responsibilities • Daily supervision and management of children’s schedules • Monitor children’s physical health and provide medical assistance as needed • Maintain high standards of care and conduct • Manage staff • Efficiently manage course schedules, activities, and assessments • Deliver interactive and practical sessions that encourage active participation • Guide children in identifying their leadership styles and life skills needs • Facilitate group activities, discussions, and role-plays to simulate real-life scenarios • Foster a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment that inspires children • Provide assistance with the implementation of holiday programmes and academic excellence courses
