Description
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture on behalf of International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) seeks suitable Nigerian Nationals for the position below at the Institute’s headquarter in Ibadan. Position: Research Supervisor (2 Positions) Duration: 6 months’ renewable Location: Ibadan Closing Date: 5 August 2026 DUTIES: Support establishment and maintenance of demonstration plots (forage) and feed units. Support demonstration of improved feed formulation and feeding practices at TRUs and pilot farms. Collect basic data on feed use, animal performance, and cost implications. Support routine field data collection on feed, forage, and dairy production. Record observations on technology adoption, farmer practices, and productivity changes. Assist in data entry, cleaning, and validation using Excel or mobile tools. Support organization of field visits, trainings, and demonstration events. Assist in handling materials, tools, and inputs required for feed innovation activities. Ensure availability and proper use of data collection tools and field materials. Support engagement with farmers, youth groups, and local stakeholders involved in feed innovation activities. Maintain simple records of participants, beneficiaries, and training attendance. Take field notes, pictures, and short activity summaries for reporting purposes. Assist in the implementation and monitoring of alternative feed technologies, including:· HQCP production, handling, and feeding trials, BSFL production units (where applicable), Crop residue processing and utilization Requirements QUALIFICATION: BSc/HND in Agriculture, Animal Science or related field with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing similar role in a well-structured environment. COMPETENCIES: The ideal candidate must: Knowledge of livestock and diary value chains Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams. Strong organizational and planning skills.
