Contract: 12 months Fixed term contract We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Research Finance Officer to provide financial support across a portfolio of externally funded research projects. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will ensure projects are managed in line with funding requirements, financial regulations and organisational policies. Key Responsibilities • Monitor and report on project budgets and financial performance. • Provide financial advice and guidance on funding rules and processes. • Manage the financial lifecycle of research projects, including set-up, invoicing, journal postings, funding claims and project closure. • Prepare financial forecasts, including income, expenditure and salary forecasting. • Cost project extensions and support financial planning. • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare information for audits. • Analyse financial data, investigate variances and ensure compliance with funding requirements. • Build effective relationships with stakeholders and deliver excellent customer service. • Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing and enhancing financial processes. About You You will have: • Experience in finance administration within a busy environment. • Experience monitoring and reporting financial information. • An AAT qualification (or equivalent finance experience). • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills. • Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills. • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and as part of a team. Desirable: • Experience in research finance or grant management. • Experience supporting financial audits. • Project management experience.
