Our client, based in Surrey, is currently recruiting for a Repairs Liaison Officer on a 6-month temporary contract with the goal of becoming permanent.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is £28 per hour via an umbrella company.
This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week Monday – Friday, with two days working from home (Monday & Friday).
The ideal candidate will provide support to tenants experiencing complex, prolonged or high-risk repairs issues. Acting as a named point of contact, the postholder will advocate on behalf of residents, coordinate activity across housing teams and contractors, and ensure tenants receive clear communication, timely updates and effective resolution of their concerns.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
• Act as the named point of contact for tenants experiencing complex, prolonged, or high-risk repairs issues, providing consistent support throughout the resolution process
• Advocate on behalf of tenants to ensure their concerns are understood, represented, and addressed effectively
• Coordinate repairs activity across housing teams, contractors, and other relevant services to drive timely and effective resolutions
• Maintain regular communication with tenants, providing clear, accurate, and timely updates on the progress of repairs and associated actions
• Monitor and proactively manage complex repair cases, ensuring appropriate escalation where necessary to minimise delays and improve outcomes
• Build positive relationships with tenants, particularly those who are vulnerable or have additional support needs, delivering a person-centred and empathetic service
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to remove barriers to resolution and improve the customer experience
• Identify recurring issues and contribute to service improvements aimed at reducing complaints, repeat contact, and unresolved repairs
Experience required:
• Experience of working in housing, repairs, customer service, care and support, advocacy or a related field
• Experience managing complex cases involving multiple stakeholders
• Experience supporting vulnerable customers or residents with diverse needs
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to build trust and rapport with residents from diverse backgrounds
• Strong organisational and case management skills
• Excellent problem-solving and influencing skills
