About Us Women In Tech UK is a community-led, volunteer-driven organisation dedicated to empowering women in technology through mentorship, resources, and support. We are seeking an organised and proactive Head of Operations to help us maintain efficient operations and manage projects to further our mission of supporting women in tech. Please note: This is a volunteer position and is unpaid. Role Summary As the Volunteer Head of Operations, you will play a key generalist role, contributing to operational efficiency and supporting various functions, including project management, product management, and event planning. You will work closely with our volunteer teams to support cross-team collaboration and ensure the successful execution of our initiatives. This role is ideal for someone passionate about creating an inclusive tech community and who brings an adaptable, hands-on approach to help Women In Tech UK grow and thrive. Key Responsibilities 1. Operations, Product, and Project Management • Coordinate and maintain project timelines, organise resources, and ensure accessibility to updated task guidelines across functions. • Support product-related tasks, including maintaining organisational tools and processes that enhance team productivity. • Help organise and maintain operational documents, ensuring efficiency and consistency in project workflows. 2. Event Management • Plan, coordinate, and manage event timelines, resources, and documentation to ensure clarity and consistency across event-related projects. • Facilitate communication and logistics for Women In Tech UK events, collaborating with team leads to ensure seamless event execution. 3. Team Engagement and KPI Tracking • Monitor volunteer team KPIs, track project progress, and lead regular team meetings to align on goals and keep initiatives on track. • Foster a positive, supportive environment for volunteers to encourage productivity and community engagement. 4. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Act as a bridge across teams, helping to coordinate efforts, streamline workflows, and remove operational challenges. • Support funding initiatives and resource alignment, ensuring efforts are in line with Women In Tech UK’s mission and goals. 5. Volunteer Recruitment and Onboarding • Assist with volunteer recruitment and onboarding, ensuring new team members are warmly integrated and prepared to contribute. Qualifications • Experience: 1-2 years in a generalist operations, project management, or product management role, ideally within a volunteer or non-profit setting. • Skills: Strong organisational abilities, experience coordinating teams and leading meetings, and proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Asana). • Attributes: Solution-oriented, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities across various functions. Volunteer Commitment • This is an unpaid volunteer role with a commitment of several hours per month. Flexibility to work remotely and manage your own schedule is provided. • Regular attendance at team meetings and a passion for supporting women in tech are essential.
