Description
We have a permanent, full-time position available for a passionate Registered Nurse to join our PACU team (1.0 FTE). We understand that balance is key. This position operates on a rostered basis with the flexible late-start options. This allows you to manage your morning commitments while supporting the team's peak afternoon recovery periods. About You You're a  Registered Nurse with a current NZ Nursing Council Practicing Certificate and valid working rights for New Zealand. We're looking for someone with: • Minimum of 2 years’ post-graduate experience in a Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) environment. • Strong capabilities in discharge coordination, patient and whānau education, and seamless communication with Stage 1 recovery, surgeons, and anaesthetists. • The clinical flexibility to step in and support Stage 1 recovery when required. • A willingness to contribute to quality improvement, including the development, review, and updating of procedure-specific discharge information sheets. • Proven clinical competence and a strong commitment to evidence-based practice. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative, team-focused approach. • A positive, adaptable attitude and the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure. • Experience in any of the following specialties is highly desirable: Orthopaedics, Plastics, Laparoscopic, Gynaecology, Urology, or General Surgery About us Ormiston Hospital is a private surgical hospital with a commitment to our patients to provide clinical excellence and superior service.
