FROM: https://www.volunteer.gov/s/volunteer-opportunity/a09SJ00000OjUTx ADDRESS: 17968 Covered Bridge Road Oakdale, California, 95361-1229 DATES: 6/17/2026 – 6/16/2027 DEPT: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers JOB DESCRIPTION: Stanislaus River Parks is looking for 1-2 park hosts at our Valley Oak Recreation Area host site in Oakdale, California. Valley Oak Recreation Area is a remote park tucked away in the trees by the Stanislaus River. The area consists of a 9-site boat-in/walk-in campground. There is a small trail looped around the area that is popular among local visitors walking their dogs. Next to the campground, there is a boat ramp used by kayakers and rafters. This recreation area is a popular spot for visitors in the summers for hiking, swimming, fishing, picnicking, and rafting the Stanislaus River. There are 2 CXTs located at this site. The park host will be provided a site with electricity, water hookups, utility cart, and all necessary equipment to maintain the park. Volunteers must bring their own camper. Park hosts will be required to work 20 hours per week to maintain the position. Tasks and projects include litter pickup, trail maintenance, visitor assistance, attending the campground, and other related maintenance tasks. Tagged as: SUMMER '26
