The Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager - RAIL based in the West End will deliver commercial oversight across multiple rail projects. This contract or permanent role, paying £450-£500 per day, requires comprehensive experience in all quantity surveying and commercial management duties. The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of NEC contracts and substantial rail sector expertise, with over six years of relevant experience. A BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification is essential, while MRICS status is desirable but not mandatory. Day-to-day responsibilities include cost control, contract administration, and commercial reporting. This position suits a seasoned professional seeking to apply their skills within a well-established practice. THE ROLE My client seeks a Quantity Surveyor to join their London office on a CONTRACT or PERMANENT basis. This is to work on various RAIL projects. You must have experience of all quantity surveying and commercial management duties and have good Rail experience using NEC contracts. THE COMPANY My client is a long established busy firm of PQS with several offices. My client works on projects for infrastructure and also for buildings. THE CANDIDATE You will be a Quantity Surveyor / commercial manager who has good experience of working on RAIL related projects. You should have a BSc or similar in Quantity Surveying. You may be MRICS qualified although this is not essential. You will have in excess of 6 years quantity surveying experience. You must have good knowledge in the use of NEC contracts. You will have good all round Quantity Surveying experience to include dealing with project costs, budget management, forecasting, contract administration, managing risks, performace reviews, final accounts etc. This role can be on a contract or permanent basis. The contract roles will be inside IR35 and rates will depend on your level of experience but likely to be from £450 to £500 per day with the higher salary needing some team management experience.
