Description
Elmet International Brașov is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the quality domain of our facility and take full ownership of quality, from supplier and incoming inspection through production and final delivery to the customer. You will lead the quality team and act as the facility’s quality authority towards customers, auditors, and suppliers. Responsibilities: • Lead and develop the quality team (quality engineers and inspectors), owning the full quality domain of a facility specializing in electronic integration, assemblies, testing, and cable manufacturing; • Manage supplier quality and incoming inspection: define acceptance criteria, approve incoming components, quarantine non-conforming material, and drive supplier corrective actions; • Plan and oversee quality inspections during production, assembly, and final testing, including control plans and inspection instructions; • Handle non-conformities and customer complaints end to end: containment, root cause analysis (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa), corrective and preventive actions, and verification of effectiveness; • Lead continuous improvement using core quality tools (FMEA, SPC, control plans) and reduce cost of poor quality; • Own the quality management system: write and maintain procedures, work instructions, and quality records; • Lead preparations for and host internal and external audits, including customer audits and ISO 9001 / AS9100 certification audits; • Execute First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 and manage the sampling / part approval process with customers; • Define, track, and report quality KPIs (PPM, scrap, customer returns, audit findings) to site management. Job Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Electronics, or a related field; • At least 5 years of experience in quality assurance in electronics or cable/harness manufacturing, of which at least 2 years leading a team or the quality function; • Hands-on experience performing and managing quality inspections in production and assembly processes; • Working knowledge of core quality tools: 8D, FMEA, SPC, control plans, and part approval processes (FAI / PPAP); • Solid knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements and audit practice; familiarity with IPC workmanship standards; • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and datasheets; • Ability to work independently, with high attention to detail, strong organization, and excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; • Full proficiency in English (Romanian native or fluent). Represents an advantage: • IPC-A-610 / IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (CIS/CIT); • SQE certification or supplier quality / supplier audit experience; • Background in automotive quality (IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, APQP/PPAP) – candidates transitioning from automotive are welcome; • Experience working with ERP systems; • Internal or lead auditor qualification (ISO 9001 / AS9100); • German language skills.
