Description
We are recruiting for an experienced Quality Control Engineer to join a leading aerospace manufacturing business in Yeovil. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled quality team supporting precision manufacturing and production operations.
This is initially a temporary contract running until the end of the year, however there are strong plans for the role to be extended, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking for longer-term contract work.
The Role
You will play a key role in ensuring products, processes and quality systems meet customer, regulatory and company standards. Working closely with production, engineering and customers, you'll help drive quality improvements while providing day-to-day support across manufacturing operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting production with quality control activities and regulatory compliance.
• Reviewing customer and regulatory requirements to ensure standards are achieved.
• Delivering quality-related training and supporting the qualification of inspection personnel.
• Reviewing and approving First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
• Managing concession processes for both civil and military products.
• Investigating customer quality issues and leading root cause investigations.
• Producing and maintaining quality procedures and documentation.
• Monitoring quality KPIs and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Acting as a key point of contact between operations, customers and the wider quality team.
What We're Looking For
• HNC qualified (or equivalent), ideally in a Quality Engineering or related discipline.
• Previous experience within a quality role in an aerospace or similarly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of quality systems, inspection processes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and concession processes would be advantageous.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and build effective working relationships.
• A methodical, organised approach with excellent attention to detail.
• A proactive team player committed to continuous improvement.
