Insight Global is seeking a Quality Control Manager for a top aerospace manufacturing client. This individual will oversee all quality inspection operations while maintaining and improving the company's Quality Management System. The ideal candidate will lead a team of inspectors, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with AS9100 and NADCAP standards. This person will partner closely with manufacturing, engineering, and purchasing teams to resolve quality issues, manage corrective actions, and support new product introductions. The role offers the opportunity to influence quality strategy, lead regulatory and customer audits, improve operational performance through SPC and Lean methodologies, and play a critical role in maintaining world-class quality standards in a precision aerospace manufacturing environment. Day-to-Day:
Manage daily operations of the Quality Inspection department Lead and mentor a team of quality inspectors Facilitate MRB reviews and disposition of non-conforming materials Partner with Manufacturing and Purchasing on corrective actions and root cause investigations Lead customer, internal, and regulatory quality audits Maintain and improve AS9100 and NADCAP certifications Develop and update quality procedures and inspection processes Drive APQP activities for new product launches and engineering changes Monitor quality KPIs including scrap, rework, warranty issues, customer complaints, and PPM Implement and manage SPC programs and process capability initiatives Track employee performance and quality department metrics Collaborate with Engineering teams to establish critical inspection requirements Develop inspection documentation, work instructions, and quality tools Support manufacturing with technical quality and process improvement initiatives Must-Haves:
5+ years of Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment Experience maintaining and improving Quality Management Systems (QMS) Hands-on experience with Zeiss CMM equipment Strong knowledge of AS9100 and NADCAP standards and audits Experience leading root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone) Ability to manage non-conforming material review (MRB) processes Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation Experience with FMEA, Process Qualification & Validation, and SPC Knowledge of inspection tools including micrometers, comparators, and CMMs Experience developing quality metrics and reporting Strong leadership and employee performance management experience Strong Excel and data analysis skills Plusses:
Zeiss Calypso programming experience Aerospace manufacturing experience (3-5+ years) Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S certifications/experience Experience implementing new QMS systems APQP experience supporting new product introductions Precision machining/manufacturing background
