Space Engineers has been played by millions of players worldwide and continues to evolve more than a decade after its original release. We have sold more than 6 million copies, and we do not want to stop there. As QA Lead, you will have direct influence over the quality of one of the most technically ambitious sandbox games in the industry. You will work alongside experienced developers, own critical release decisions, and help shape how quality is built into every part of the development process. It is one of the disciplines directly responsible for the success of every release. We are looking for a QA Lead to take full ownership of the measurement of the quality of Space Engineers. You will lead a team of six experienced QA professionals while being accountable for release stability, testing strategy, quality standards, and continuous improvement across the project. This role is about much more than managing testers or tracking bugs. We are looking for someone who naturally takes ownership, identifies risks before they become problems, drives quality across teams, and ensures that every release reaches players in the best possible state. If you believe quality is built throughout development, not just tested at the end, you will fit right in. We are looking for someone who Has 5+ years of professional experience as QA Lead in game development - preferably with PC and/or console game development Has shipped multiple PC or console games through the complete development lifecycle. Understands software testing methodologies, release management, and risk-based testing. Has experience designing and improving QA processes, not just executing them. Strong understanding of test automation strategies, frameworks and best practices.  Can balance technical quality with production realities. Is confident making difficult release recommendations based on evidence. Has excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Speaks fluent English. Thrives in environments where ownership and accountability matter. Is currently based in the Czech Republic or within the EU. Is able and willing to travel to Prague, Czech Republic when needed Nice to have Experience with sandbox, simulation, or systems-heavy games. Familiarity with telemetry, crash analytics, and live game operations. Experience working on long-term live products. Passion for engineering-driven games. What you will own Product Quality Measurement Take full ownership of the measurement of the quality of Space Engineers. Continuously raise the quality bar across gameplay, technical systems, content, and releases. Release Stability Be accountable for multiplatform release readiness and production stability. Drive objective go/no-go decisions based on risk assessment and quality data. QA Strategy Define the project's testing strategy, priorities, quality standards, and long-term QA roadmap. Ensure the team focuses on the areas that create the highest value for both developers and players. Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop a team of six QA professionals. Build a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous learning, and high execution standards. Process Improvement Continuously improve QA workflows, methodologies, and collaboration across Engineering, Design, and Production to make quality an integral part of development rather than a final checkpoint. Player Experience Own post-release quality by proactively reducing player-facing issues. Analyze support tickets, crash reports, telemetry, and community feedback to identify root causes and drive long-term improvements.
