Gender: Any Candidate Nationality: Any Job Type: Contract - Remote - work from home Role Context The Python Quality Assurance Lead will oversee the technical reliability of Python content used to train and evaluate advanced artificial intelligence systems. Assignments may include reviewing generated code, debugging explanations, algorithms, backend services, automation scripts, tests, data-processing workflows, and package usage. The successful candidate will identify incorrect logic, non-executable code, hallucinated APIs, inefficient algorithms, weak exception handling, unsafe operations, inadequate tests, and incomplete explanations. The role also includes contributor coaching, onboarding, quality documentation, calibration, performance monitoring, and improvement of scalable Python review workflows. Key Responsibilities * Review Python AI training items against detailed project rubrics and software quality standards. * Evaluate code correctness, runtime behavior, readability, maintainability, security, performance, and instruction compliance. * Execute or reason through Python code to confirm whether it produces the intended result. * Review algorithms, backend snippets, automation scripts, data workflows, tests, and debugging responses. * Identify syntax errors, incorrect logic, hidden side effects, incomplete implementations, and runtime failures. * Detect hallucinated modules, nonexistent APIs, invalid package usage, and unsupported library behavior. * Assess exception handling, input validation, logging, resource management, and failure recovery. * Review Python data structures, functions, classes, modules, comprehensions, iterators, generators, and decorators. * Evaluate context managers, virtual environments, dependency files, packaging, and installation instructions. * Check asynchronous code involving asyncio, tasks, coroutines, event loops, and concurrent operations. * Review file, network, database, and operating-system interactions for safety and reliability. * Flag insecure recommendations involving credentials, command execution, file access, serialization, or external input. * Assess algorithmic efficiency, memory usage, unnecessary complexity, and avoidable performance bottlenecks. * Evaluate type annotations, static analysis, documentation, naming, formatting, and idiomatic Python practices. * Review pytest and unittest test cases for coverage, isolation, assertions, fixtures, and edge conditions. * Assess backend examples involving FastAPI, Flask, Django, requests, SQLAlchemy, or related frameworks. * Review data-processing examples involving pandas and comparable Python libraries. * Spot-check work completed by trainers, engineers, annotators, reviewers, educators, and QA contributors. * Provide precise written feedback explaining technical defects and the required corrective action. * Escalate recurring, critical, security-sensitive, or production-impacting quality concerns. * Communicate guideline changes, workflow updates, and Python-specific expectations through Discord. * Answer contributor questions involving syntax, runtime behavior, exceptions, testing, typing, packages, security, and performance. * Contact inactive contributors, encourage participation, document follow-ups, and report availability concerns. * Create and maintain Python style guides, FAQs, trackers, quality notes, examples, honeypots, calibration tasks, and onboarding materials. * Conduct remote onboarding and technical training sessions for Python trainers and reviewers. * Ensure all contributors apply updated Python review standards consistently. * Analyze recurring quality failures and recommend improvements to code-review workflows. * Maintain accurate records of evaluations, feedback, contributor performance, and corrective actions. Ideal Profile * Bachelor 's or Master 's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. * Equivalent professional software engineering experience may be considered. * Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Python development, backend engineering, automation, scripting, data workflows, code review, testing, teaching, or technical mentoring. * Strong English communication skills for interpreting detailed guidelines and delivering clear technical feedback. * Thorough understanding of Python data structures, functions, classes, modules, exceptions, and object-oriented programming. * Practical knowledge of comprehensions, iterators, generators, decorators, context managers, and asynchronous programming. * Ability to identify incorrect logic, non-executable code, hallucinated APIs, inefficient algorithms, and incomplete explanations. * Strong understanding of exception handling, testing, typing, package management, virtual environments, and dependency control. * Familiarity with pytest, unittest, mypy, pip, Poetry, and virtualenv is preferred. * Experience with FastAPI, Flask, Django, requests, asyncio, pandas, SQLAlchemy, GitHub, Docker, or CI-CD workflows is advantageous. * Ability to evaluate file, network, database, and external-input operations for security and reliability. * Strong debugging skills with careful attention to edge cases and runtime behavior. * Experience leading or supporting engineers, trainers, reviewers, annotators, educators, or QA teams is strongly preferred. * Ability to apply detailed rubrics consistently across high-volume code-review assignments. * Confidence using Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, GitHub, dashboards, trackers, and project management systems. * Experience creating style guides, calibration tasks, onboarding resources, FAQs, and technical documentation is beneficial. * Familiarity with AI training, data annotation, large language model evaluation, code QA, or rubric-based code review is advantageous. * Availability to complete an AI interview, a domain-specific task, and a recruiter interview. * Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving remote environment.
