After more than 30 years delivering safe, reliable solutions to the rail sector, we are excited to announce that we have been awarded the Vegetation Maintenance contract for the Transport for London (TfL) network—strengthening our commitment to maintaining a safe and accessible rail environment for millions of passengers. We are seeking experienced and competent Protection Operatives / Site Persons in Charge (SPC) to support the safe delivery of vegetation and fencing works across multiple rail sites throughout London. This is a safety-critical role responsible for implementing and maintaining safe systems of work during activities undertaken within live rail environments, including traffic hours, engineering hours, and depot operations. • Location: Hillingdon • Employment Type: Full time, Permanent What we offer: • From £145 a day dependent on experience • Weekly pay • Life Assurance scheme • Auto enrolment pension scheme. • Supportive working environment as part of a growing successful Group. Key Responsibilities • Implement and manage protection arrangements during traffic hours, engineering hours, and depot works • Act as Site Person in Charge (SPC) where appointed • Ensure safe systems of work are briefed, understood, and adhered to by all operatives on site • Undertake vegetation and chainsaw operations in line with NPTC certification • Conduct site briefings and maintain accurate protection documentation • Monitor compliance with rail standards, risk assessments, and method statements • Liaise with control, engineering supervisors, and client representatives as required • Stop work where unsafe conditions are identified • Support the safe and efficient delivery of vegetation and fencing operations Required Experience and Qualifications • Sentinel (valid sponsorship required) • PWT – TH (Protection Work – Traffic Hours) • PWT – EH (Protection Work – Engineering Hours) • PWT – D (Protection Work – Depots) • SPC – Site Person in Charge • Basic Track Awareness • Hedge Trimmer (including long-arm hedge trimmer) • Brushcutter / Strimmer • Chainsaw Pole Pruner • NPTC – Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-Cutting • NPTC – Felling Small Trees up to 380mm • Full UK driving licence • Proven experience working within live rail environments • Strong understanding of rail safety standards and operational procedures
