Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Purchasing Operator to join our Procurement Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and further developing the company's sourcing and procurement activities, with primary focus on the Source-to-Purchase process within a dynamic shipping and/or yachting environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage the full procurement cycle from requisition review and sourcing through purchase order placement and supplier follow-up.
· Support and further develop the company's end-to-end sourcing and procurement processes.
· Identify, evaluate and onboard suitable suppliers while ensuring compliance with company policies and budget requirements.
· Liaise closely with Chartering, Bases, Technical, Operations, Finance and other stakeholders to understand and address operational requirements.
· Monitor procurement performance and prepare management reports and KPI analyses.
· Ensure purchasing activities are conducted in accordance with approved budgets, procedures and internal controls.
· Contribute to ERP workflow optimization and actively support ongoing and future ERP implementation projects.
· Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier databases.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
Candidate Profile
Mandatory Requirements
· Minimum 3 years proven experience handling the complete Source-to-Pay process within a shipping or yachting company.
· Strong understanding of procurement, sourcing and supplier management principles.
· Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
· Advanced user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and reporting tools.
· Experience working with ERP & BI systems and procurement workflows.
· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Ability to work independently, prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
· Analytical and process-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
· Technical background or technical knowledge related to marine equipment and spare parts.
· Technical degree, Engineering degree, Business degree or equivalent university qualification.
· Experience supporting ERP implementation or digital transformation projects.
· Familiarity with shipping technical procurement, spare parts sourcing and contractor management.
