Aerotek is currently seeking a highly qualified MIG Welder to provide welding assistance to a production team based in Ramsey, MN. A valuable Welder should be comfortable with the mentioned tasks as follows: Very fast paced, production environment. Contractors are Pulse (MIG) welding on mild steel all day using weld fixtures and weld symbols to complete units in a set time. Welders are averaging 2,000-2,500 welds per day, very production based. Cosmetic welding- must be very consistent. Must wear weld helmet, gloves, weld jacket, steel toe boots and ear plugs. Contractors are loading metal on to the fixture, using symbols to weld one part of the unit, unload once complete and will pass the unit along to the next welder to complete another portion. Productivity is measured by the weld cell, not the individual welder. This opening is during 2nd shift which is currently running 3:30PM-2AM on Monday-Thursday with the possibility of mandatory overtime on Fridays and Saturdays. Contractors may be working anywhere from 40-60 hours a week.
