Description
The SPLC is seeking a Protective Services Officer who is passionate about social justice!  Under general supervision, the Protective Services Officer provides corporate personnel, facilities, target executives and their residences with professional protective services.  Who You Are Observant and Responsive. Must be able to evaluate situations and determine appropriate response options to protect lives and property. Experienced. Familiarity with high-tech integrated security systems. Proficiency with executive protection. Attentive and Thorough. Must have continual attention to detail and ability to be thorough when analyzing potential threats and unsafe conditions. Communicative. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with SPLC staff and guests. Mission, Vision & Culture Alignment. Demonstrate an awareness for SPLC's mission and vision; and a commitment to the ideals of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion and fostering an anti-racist work culture and to anti-racist principles and learning. What You'll Do Control  access to SPLC facilities and their residences using a variety of sensors, detection devices, and tactics. Operate  and monitors integrated security systems to detect unauthorized access. Identify  threats and unsafe conditions, and directly responds to minimize risks to SPLC personnel. Operate  a variety of telephone and radio equipment to effectively communicate with other security personnel. Deter  terrorist threats by maintaining a highly trained, armed, professional security presence via vehicle and foot patrol activity. Conduct  surveillance detection operations using sophisticated Closed-Circuit TV (CCTV) systems to detect terrorists targeting of protected facilities. Perform executive protection security details in support of executive travel and appearances. Perform  other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties of this job classification.   Minimum Qualifications  We are committed to equitable hiring practices, therefore you must meet the minimum qualifications to be considered for the role. Minimum of two years of experience as an armed/unarmed security officer, military personnel or law enforcement officer; Must be able to qualify with a variety of small arms and long-range weapons; Must be able to execute physically demanding defensive tactics; and High School Diploma or GED. Compensation & Benefits This is a non-exempt role and the starting salary is $51,558 ($24.78 per hour) annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Where & How You'll Work  This role the following work designations options: In Office : In-office Work requires employees to work in their assigned SPLC offices every workday unless otherwise instructed by their supervisor. This position reports to the Deputy Director of Security.  Other Special Considerations  This job may occasionally require working under strenuous physical demands or in hazardous conditions. Must be able to lift and transport items up to 75 pounds and must be able to qualify with a variety of small arms and long-range weapons.
