Description
An industry leading General Contractor is seeking a Project Safety Manager (SSHO) to oversee safety on a major project near Lexington, MA. This role will focus on implementing safety programs, reducing risk exposure, and ensuring adherence to industry and federal regulations. The position offers an opportunity to work on complex projects while helping strengthen a safety-first culture throughout the organization.
Relocation Assistance will be provided for non-local candidates.
The Role
• Lead project safety initiatives by promoting a strong safety-first culture and ensuring safe work planning before activities begin.
• Monitor contractor and project team compliance with safety programs, documentation requirements, and established site standards.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, analyze trends, and work with project teams to identify, address, and prevent workplace hazards.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, maintain accurate records, and implement corrective actions to reduce future risks.
• Provide safety training, mentor team members, and collaborate with stakeholders to support project and business objectives.
The Candidate
• Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience within federal construction environments for a general contractor (required)
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction and EM385-1-1 training credentials (required)
• A strong communicator who can engage with both key internal and external stakeholder
