Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager - Shipbuilding to join a leading shipyard environment in the Middle East, supporting the delivery of large-scale marine and offshore projects.
This role is ideal for professionals with strong shipyard, newbuilding, and vessel conversion project experience, who can lead full lifecycle execution from engineering through commissioning and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end execution of shipbuilding and offshore projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards
• Manage multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, fabrication, and commissioning
• Develop and implement project execution plans, schedules, and resource strategies
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans
• Oversee yard production activities, ensuring alignment with project milestones and technical requirements
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure performance and compliance
• Interface with clients, classification societies, and internal stakeholders for approvals, inspections, and reporting
• Control project budgets, cost forecasts, and variations to maintain financial performance
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE and quality standards across all project phases
Key Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• 10-20+ years of experience in shipbuilding or offshore project environments
• Strong experience in newbuild vessels, ship repair, conversion, or offshore fabrication projects
• Proven track record managing projects within shipyard or heavy fabrication yard environments
• Solid understanding of:
• Shipbuilding processes (hull, outfitting, piping, mechanical systems)
• Yard production planning and execution
• Class and regulatory standards (ABS, DNV, BV, etc.)
• Experience coordinating across production, planning, QA/QC, and procurement teams
• Strong project management skills including schedule, cost control, and risk management
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities
